COURSE AIM
This course will introduce learners the safety precautions required when working with manual Mills and Lathes,associated tools, equipment and techniques. By the end of the course, a learner will be able to demonstrate that theyare competent in being able to carry out the milling operations on vertical milling machines and centre lathes.
COURSE DELIVERY
Delivered by a qualified, competent professional. One day per week over 10 weeks.Learner will get a certificate of completion signed off by a competent person providing they can prove competent inall aspects.
COURSE CONTENT OVERVIEW
Prepare for machining, selecting tools, equipment required and planning how they intend to carry out therequired activities and sequence of operations. Mounting, positioning and correctly setting a range of workholding devices, to mount the workpiece andcutting tools and to set and use cutting feeds/speeds and techniques appropriate to the type of material,tooling, workpiece rigidity and operations being performed. Produce components with a variety of features on each type of machine. Check the quality of the workpiece, using measuring equipment appropriate to the aspects beingchecked and the tolerances to be achieved.
Full course cost: £1000+vat. per person.
