COURSE AIM

This course will introduce learners to safe working, tools, components, cables and how to build an electrical circuit ina variety of systems. By the end of the course, a learner will be confident that they can approach an electrical systemsafely, identify key elements, perform basic fault finding and basic alterations.

COURSE DELIVERY

Delivered by a qualified, competent professional. One day per week over 10 weeks.Learner will get a certificate of completion signed off by a competent person providing they can prove competent inall aspects.

COURSE CONTENT OVERVIEW

Electrical safety including an appreciation of the 18th Edition rule book and other aspects such as lock offprocedures and testing on known live. Use of appropriate tools such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers, LCR meters, multifunctiontesters.Use of key components such as relays, isolators, switches and fuses.Use of a range of cables and a variety of terminations. How circuits work and how to build a range of electrical systems such as direct-on-line panels, linearactuators and PLC fault finding.Knowledge such as point to point checks, interlocking principles and reading of schematics transposingthem into reality.
