This vacancy is for an apprentice automation engineer. OGM is based in Yarnton near Oxford, Oxfordshire. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to undertake valuable work experience whilst gaining on the job qualifications.

Advanced Level Apprenticeship

Vacancy description

All aspects of automated production, including:

 

  • Bespoke machine and equipment manufacture
  • Robot and machine installation/commissioning
  • System/ process development ,design and integration
  • Robot and PLC programming
  • Robotic arm tooling design and manufacture
  • System and process maintenance
  • Robotic/automation upgrades to existing production systems

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • The successful candidate will have an interest in mechanical engineering supported by good practical skills.
  • An understanding of mechanical principals
  • Computer literacy.
  • Have achieved a good standard of education
  • The ability and desire to learn new skills

Personal qualities

  • An ability and commitment to be successful
  • A desire to follow a career in Mechanical engineering
  • A willingness to learn and be part of a team.

Desired qualifications

A minimum of five GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade 5 or above including English, Science and Mathematics

Things to consider

There is a lot to learn so at times it will be difficult, however very satisfying and enjoyable for the right person.
