Updated 09/04/2020

Our full team are still currently working remotely with all our stakeholders during this difficult period. The Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic has produced unique challenges for employers and apprentices and we are committed to supporting all as best we can.

Employers looking to take on new apprentices

We are happy to speak to any employer who is looking to take on apprentices. This may be something you are looking to do in the longer term with a view to be ready once the current situation has passed. Or you may still be operating and would like to employ an apprentice in the near future or offer a current employee the opportunity to begin an apprenticeship as a form of CPD. Either way, we are happy to discuss all your options including what funding is available so please give us a call 01993 882008 or email info@theengineeringtrust.org.

We also understand that many training providers are struggling to continue through these difficult times. This is devastating for our sector and a very real issue for the apprentices affected by any closure of a training provider. We are more than happy to help if you, as an employer find that your apprenticeship scheme no longer has a provider. We can give you advice and support to find the best solution for you and your apprentices.

Candidates looking to start an apprenticeship

We continue to have vacancies available and our recruitment process is ongoing. This is a fluid situation and we are currently continuing to assess, telephone interview and shortlist candidates for available vacancies. We are passing shortlisted candidates to the employers and each is following their process to manage the next stage.

Some are conducting interviews by phone or video whilst others are holding the candidates they would like to interview and waiting to see if restrictions on people movement will be lifted in the next few months.

We would encourage people looking to do an apprenticeship to apply and begin the process. If you have any questions, please call or email.

Current Apprentices

We have been communicating with all our current apprentices via our Training Officers. Apprentices can still continue with their learning whilst at home or within a period of furlough and we have asked that they keep us up to date should their employment status change.
