Advanced Level Apprenticeship

Vacancy description

An opportunity has arisen for two full time B1 Apprentice Engineers, one based at our Oxford Maintenance facility and one at our Brighton City Maintenance Facility. The role would suit an honest individual with focus and determination to succeed in the Apprenticeship.

We are looking for people who are sincerely passionate about Aircraft Engineering. You will need a positive, forward thinking attitude and a customer-centric approach; we will recruit only those who are prepared to make a significant commitment to their own development and career.

Apprentices are involved in all maintenance aspects of helicopter maintenance, including:

  • Line Replaceable Units
  • Engine and Gearbox Installation
  • Hydraulic Systems
  • Fuel Systems
  • Flying Controls
  • Emergency Systems
  • Metal and Composite Repair
  • Maintenance Check Flights
  • Ground Handling
  • Hangar Maintenance

The Apprenticeship provides a structured approach to training which ensures training in the skills directly relevant to Aviation Maintenance.  These Apprenticeships are designed to develop Licensed Engineers and Maintenance Managers of the future.

The Apprenticeship will culminate in the achievement of an EASA Part 66 B1.3 License.

 

 

Requirements and prospects

  • Capable of attaining a Part 66 License

Desired qualifications

A minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications) at grade 5 and above including English, Science, however a grade 6 in Maths is required.

Through a combination of classroom, workshop and maintenance learning, in addition to hands on experience with live aircraft, we can provide you with an outstanding opportunity to start your Aircraft Engineering career in a Friendly, Customer Focused, busy Maintenance Environment. Whilst gaining a formal Aviation Qualification, you will also have the prospect of developing a long term career with A2B.

On successful completion of the scheme, you will have achieved the following:

  • Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering
  • Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
  • An EASA Part 66 'A' Licence
